ABL Problem - New Volvo Owner
Hello All,
I have a problem with the ABL or Active Bending Lights. The passenger side headlamp is aimed almost 45 degrees off to the side. I suppose this would be great for spotting deer or other critters on the side of the road. Both headlights still sweep left and right when the steering wheel is turned. The passenger side just sweeps back and forth across the ditch.
I did search through Google and the forums, I found several posts about adjusting the height, but virtually nothing on the ABL left-to-right adjustment. There's a second plastic hex head screw at the rear lower portion of the headlamp assembly, however it seems to do nothing when I turn it either way.
Am I stuck with going to the dealer$hip to correct this problem, or is there something I can do myself to fix this? Some sort of calibration procedure maybe?
Thanks in advance.

I took the cover off of the back of the housing and found the little mechanism that moves the headlamp from side to side. I can push it with my fingers easily, but as soon as I turn on the car, it goes right back to the wrong spot. If you push it either way while the car is running, it immediately corrects itself. It would seem it has an incorrect position stored as center.
