Advise on buying brand new S60
Hi,
I am thinking about buying a brand new S60. Dealers here in Denmark are selling them at a fair price inkl. climate control, 17" alloys and soft leather seats.
I am looking at the 140 BHP 5-cyl with manual gear in silver metallic.
Is there anything I should be aware of before buying. I am comming from an only one year old for S-MAX which have been nothing but pains and trouble.
I have driven a 2007 rental V70 for a month (with the same engine), which made me look at the S60.
Thanks.
Best regards
JASE

I can't speak Dansk, but 1/2 of my wife's family came from there, if that counts for anything!
S60 is out of production now. It will be replaced, sooner or later, with a new model. The concept car appears all over the internet: "2010 Volvo S60". I suspect the dealers are offering good prices because demand for the 2009 model has dropped significantly.
I think the current V70 is based on an S80 chassis/platform, but I'll let others here more knowledgeable speak to that issue. But that's why its still being produced unlike the S60 which it resembles.
That being said, it seems that Volvo worked out all the problems the early S60's had, So you would be buying a car not likely to fall apart on you.
Earlier this year, my wife and I bought a used V70 from a dealer with an excellent warranty and low mileage (kms) on it. So far, its been a very good car -- a 2006 built on the S60 chassis/platform. Turbo 5 with geartronic transmission and 17" wheels.
