Alignment after rear shocks only?
I am having the front struts on my 06 s60 2.5 T FWD replaced next week. One front strut is leaking badly. I am not doing the rears at this time and plan to do them at a later date, six months out possibly. An alignment will be done after the front work. Mechanic says I will need a four wheel alignment again after rear shock install. Is this really needed? Will the ride height or removal of rear bolts affect the alignment when the rear is done?
if you have simple shocks in the rear - ie one bolt at the bottom and a shock mount at the top, I don't see why you'd need an alignment. then again, why wait to do later? the hardest part of doing rear shocks is moving the trunk liner to get at the mounts.
