so today i was trying to drive home from work and i hit the gas and all my engine did was bogg and jump like it wanted to stall. driving slow is ok ( under 3000rpm) but when i go to accelerate my rpms rev up and my speed doesnt. i have the 2.4T (2003) not geartronic trans. this looks like "clutch slipping" symptoms ... but its not manual.. sooo im at a loss

help please

 

Check trans Oil. did the Check engine light came on? I would do a trans oil flush for starters.

 

thanks for reply, at the time when it happened. i checked the trans oil and level was ok. i had recently done a flush a week or 2 ago. the IPD way where u start the car for a few seconds then top up. and repeat. and before that i had the dealer flush it when i first got the car about 1 year ago (8000kms). The check engine light did not come on.

 

I think you have a problem with the trans Valve Body. or ur trans might be going out mate.

 

thats what im concerned about but trying to avoid. i have read also about the damn valve bodies going. I was thinking a vacuum leak possibly. checked for those and couldnt find any. dealer thinks throttle body could use servicing.

It seems to be a bit better now. when i start the car from cold engine it stutters like suffocating. till it warms up and then behaves itself. but still, if i mash the pedal no boost or acceleration till 4500rpm.

tried pulling MAF sensor didnt make a difference.
