2002 V40, every so often the instrument cluster goes dead. Could be for a few hours, couple days .. no rhyme or reason. Happens when starting the car - gauges never start working. Any suggestions what it could be? Loose wiring harness or something?

I searched all over, can't find any other mention of a similar problem with the V40, any year.

 

Make sure all the battery connections are clean and tight.

Is there anything else you notice that doesn't work?

 

I also had this problem with my 2002 (bi-fuel) V40 purchased in Italy. The gauges stop working after a few minutes from power on. Now they're not working at all...
