Need to get new Brake Pads for my 2001 S60. Any suggestions on what brand to buy? I have around 70K on the car and drive in Southern california with no snow, rain, dust conditions. Also I use the car for very short distances in town, so a lot of stop and start situations.

I changed from the OEM Volvo pads (would stop you on a dime but dust build up was horendous) to the Akebono Euro Ceramic pads. Stop distance is still great and after almost 4 weeks on the car NO DUST! YIPPEE!!

 

They actually sell the Hawk HPS pads for these cars if you are looking for some fairly high performance pads...

If you just want regular driving, akebono euro is the way to go..
