Default 2013 S60 burning oil

I have a 2013 S60 T5, 59,000 miles, My warning light came on-no oil. the dip stick seemed bone dry. all service has been done by Volvo dealer. Volvo saw no leaks and topped off the oil and said come back at 61,000 miles to see how much has burned off. I rely on the dealer to do repairs. How much am I in for if Volvo does a valve job? Is it worth it or is it time to unload the car? Thanks.

Default Oil Consumption

I will never, ever buy another Volvo. Ever since the car (2013 S60 T5) had 58,000 miles on it, it has run through a quart of oil every thousand miles.
I found it on one of Hendricks' pre-owned lots (in 2017). It had 58,000 on it at the time. Within the last year and a half, I have persistently tried to work with Volvo. They acknowledge there is a problem, but won't do anything about it. I still owe $8,000 on it. I hope adding oil will help me get it to the place where I can get rid of it without too much of a financial loss. Volvo doesn't mean "I roll." It means "I Suck."

there's a known problem area for 2012/13s with oil consumption. Some have reported issues with pistons/rings, others have noted the issue was related to the PCV oil separator. Others have suggested ring damage was caused by pre-ignition due to carbon build up (an inspection cam can check). First step would be to service the PCV (installing any upgraded parts), next is to make sure your oil is the correct weight and meets factory specs (specs are in the owner manual and published on the oil jug). Finally if you continue to find dropping in a quart every 3rd tank of gas to annoying, you may need to have a compression/leak down test to confirm the diagnosis.

I tried to tell the Volvo people that when I changed the spark plugs two of the five had oil in the chambers. They looked at me like I was from another planet.
To your knowledge, is there a class action lawsuit?

Thanks,

you can google for that. I'm sure a law firm is collecting data on the subject - whether its gone to court yet is something to look for as well. If that's in your interest, just make sure to keep good records - ie when it was reported to Volvo, costs specific to maintenance etc. (in other words, if you had to pay say $3000 for a lower end rebuild, you need to be able to prove that)

Exclamation S60 volvo engine burned up no warning

Volvo 2012 S60 engine burned up with no warning lights or anything. Has 95,000 miles on it. There must be some sort of remedy from Volvo with such a common problem. Anyone have advice what to do with the car....fix it? trade it?
Thanks for your time and help

I hate to say this on a Volvo forum, but I traded all my Volvo's for Toyota's and my issues have gone to zero. But I really do miss my 1966 Volvo.
