Default A/C intermittent blowing cold air?

My a/c seams to blow cold air intermittently. I just put in 2 cans of freon with a psi gage reading in the green. Any suggestions?

It could be so many things don't really know where to start. I would not have started with freon on an intermittent issue. You need to check some things when it is acting up. Check and see if the a/c clutch is engaged, make sure the cooling fans are on (note if the a/c clutch is not on the fans may be off depending on engine temp). See if it is speed related like gets hot in stop and go traffic but at hwy speeds it seems to cool ok.

Default A/C problem

The clutch is engaging and the fan is working at idle. Dont know while driving. The engine temp doesnt matter. It intermitten right away and stays that way. Thanks for the help. Other threads seam to think its shimming of the clutch. What does shimming do for it and how do you do it.

I really have to stress that you check it when the problem is occurring. If you did indeed check it while it was acting up and the clutch was engaged then shimming is not required. What happens is that the clutch and clutch hub (pulley) are just metal and every time the clutch engages the friction between the two grind metal away therefore increasing the clutch gap. The clutch is engaged by magnetism so the further the clutch is away from the hub the harder the magnet has to work to pull it together. So what people are doing is if the clutch surface is not too worn is de-shimming the clutch.
