Digital Display Problem
#1
#2
May be a loose connector or a burned out display. I have not tried this yet but you can remove the DMU (Display Module Unit) out of the dashboard by removing the black plastic frame, then 4 screws that hold the DMU assembly to the dash frame. Presumably there is anough slack in cables to disconnect the harness cable(s) to slide the whole unit out for testing.

Instrument cluster problem
I had a similiar problem....clock would change times randomly, forwards or backwards, and trip OD would lock up at times. I picked up a used cluster on e-bay and all now works....only issue with used cluster is car mileage moves with the cluster, not sure how to correct that.
removal of cluster is easy
you can pull the black trim out starting at the bottem and working your way around to get it to move out easily, it is conected to the trim on the top of the steering column which will loosen by squeezing left and right sides inward,,,,then just jiggle it around until the trim is free from the dash. Steering column should be full down. As noted above only 4 screws, torex, hold the clusted, and there is enough slack to reach in and remove the single connector to fully remove the cluster.
