Engine Noise
Hi,
I have a 2005 S60 2.5T that just turned over 80,000 miles. At very low engine speed and car speed (as it breaks through from rest), I get an intermittent "honking" noise. Kind of a "honk, honk, honk". As the car starts to accelerate, it goes away (at a couple of miles per hour (less than 10)).
Any thoughts??? None of the timing accessory belts have been replaced. Other than that, it runs fine. Jus he usual turbo lag I have had since new.
Thanks
Alan F.

I think it's the engine. I can now almost make it do it at will by lightly feathering the throttle from a dead stop. I have been trying lightly tap the brakes when it makes the noise to see if it stops, but since they are short duration noises that doesn't really tell me anything.
Yesterday it did seem to make the noises longer an at slightly higher speeds so it may be getting worse.

does it also happen in park or neutral? if so have someone see if they can pinpoint what part of the engine its coming from. sometimes you can take a large screwdriver and put the but end to your ear and the other end on the block or various other parts and you can "hear inside" your engine block
