Can anyone help me with this problem?

I have had difficulty changing gear sometimes and the gearstick seems to stick in the gear.

It can be freed in 2 ways, firstly to pull the stick towards the gear that it is in slightly, then changing gear or by continualy applying pressure until the engine speed is correct and the gear releases. You can of course use brute force but that becomes tireing after a while.

this does not happen every time though.

I have just paid an independant Volvo dealer who said that it was the linkages and charged me £200 for the privalage. And surprise suprise it has made no diffrence.

It seams as though the clutch is not doing its job and releaseing but, the clutch still bites perfectly well and there is no obvious sign of wear when driving.

Car has done 95K and has towed in the past. it is a S60 D5 03 plate.

Can you help me please
