Gear shifter was stuck and wouldn't go back?

Gear shifter was stuck and wouldn't go back?
Today I had the shifter in the manual electronic shift and then went to put it back into regular shifting mode. I wouldn't go back into position.
Finally after several tires it did go back and I haven't pushed the shifter shaft to the side to place it in electric manual shifting again.
Any ideas why or what happened?
Now the shifter is very sloppy. Before when you pushed to the left you felt like there was a spring pushing back a bit but now you touch the know and it lays right over to the left.

I agree with you. Lurking about the internet I found the same conclusions but I am wondering how hard it is to replace?
you probably need to install repair kit #9463559 installed (see link below)
