Hard or Soft ride? (2002 S60AWD)
Hi all,
New to the Volvo world. I purchased a 2002 AWD S60 about a month ago and thus far am impressed. The one key question that I have not having owned a Volvo prior is the ride feel. There are only 45k miles on the Volvo but is seems as though the shocks/suspension are dead vs. other vehicles owned and driven in the past. Does a volvo in general ride firm or soft? I know this is probably a challenging question to answer but any guidance will be much appreciated. I am considering the investment of Bilstein shocks but if the ride is normally a hard one then maybe the shocks wont improve things much?
Thanks everyone

Well your ride quality will also depend on the size of your wheels and tires. If you have 17" wheels and small profile tires with hard sidewalls then you are going to be looking at a bit harsher ride. I've always felt the s60 had a pretty firm suspension. Unless it REALLY bothers you, I wouldn't invest in new shocks.
Thanks for the response! That makes good sense to me, especially since I do have lower profile tires on the vehicle. I am not used to how those feel so it could be as simple as living with it or changing the tires out.
Have a great night!
