Default Hard Starting

Still continuing to have starting problems with my 2007 S60 2.5T. It occurs at random times and every once in a while it shows "Reduced Engine Performance".

Replaced fuel filter.

Here is a video of the problem I'm having. This is not my video but one I found of a similar S60 that sounds just like mine.

There are several things that can cause that message but some of the more common reasons are the ETM (throttle body) and the MAF sensor. There is a chance it could be the Crank Position Sensor (CPS). I would begin by cleaning the ETM and MAF. I would also disconnect and clean the terminals (wire harness). The CPS signal might be inconsistent. It may not be a bad sensor but a bad connection or faulty wires somewhere. My brother's C70 is that way. He had the CPS code along with no starts, I replaced the sensor and it worked - for a while. It still has an occasional no start. He found that just by re-adjusting the wires to the sensor it fixes it until the next time it happens.
