Smile Headlight Switch from Xenon to Halogen

I have a 2012 S60 with active Xenon headlights. I was recently in an accident and have been looking for used replacements, but the prices for used lights are out of control, especially for this year. I'd like to switch the Xenon's to Halogens since I can get a brand new pair for cheaper than one used Xenon. My questions are:
1. Is the lighting fixture the same fit for insert?
2. Are the current wiring plugs (factory Xenon) the same for a set of halogens? If not, what would I need to purchase?
3. Will LED's in a halogen casing be a good alternative to Xenons?

What else would I need to know? Thank you all in advance for your help.

The bulb failure system will think the lights are out if you switch front xenon to halogen or led. (meaning the bulb out message will be on the dash 24/7)

I've read there is a wiring system you can add to help prevent that from happening. Besides that will everything else function the same? Mostly concerned about the connectivity.
