Default help timing belt r and r

hi im a little confused..id like to replace my timing belt, tensioner and ideler on my 2004 s60 2.5 turbo...the directions that came with the kit says to turn the crank alighn the marks..then turn an additinal 1/4 turn and then counter clockways to marks again....you tube videios do not show this extra step (the 1/4 turn to the right and then back to the left) does anyone know 100 percent which is the correct way to do this...just spent all my money on the car (which i totally love) and dont want to make a huge mistake....any help would be greatly apreciated....
