Hit a curb. Scratched the rim. (With pictures)
Hello people. I own a Volvo S60 R-Design 2011. About 1 month ago i hit a curb. I was about to park the car and accidentally i hit it with the front right tire. Resulting in... yes a damaged rim.. or do you call it alloy?
Anyway we decided to repair it. We started to grind it with abrasives. And after that we put liquid metal on. (Floating metal?) And after that we put some Color
on.. And it looks terrible.
Is it possible to make it look good again? Can i find the right color or will i need to repaint the whole rim? Or can you just simply "polish" it to almost make it look like it once did?
First image original. 2nd pictures is when i hit the curb and those after is after the "repair"
Can i get a better result than this? What can i do?
I apologize for the spelling.
Regards.

The attempted repair might cause them some heartburn but there are plenty of firms out there that specialize in alloy rim repair. I found three in my area alone. Here is a link to one. I'm not endorsing them but I liked their web content regarding the repairs that are possible.
Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists of Raleigh, NC
I would call around and tell the folks on the other line what you did and ask what it will cost to fix. It should still be cheaper than a new wheel but it might not be all that much cheaper than a used wheel depending on what they have to do to clean things up.
