Looking for opinions on a purchase
My 850 is starting take a toll on my patients and I came across a 2006 S60 R AWD for sale - $18,725. 30K miles. CARFAX looks clean. Two owners, both in the Chicagoland area. Not much listed for service; front shocks & stabilizer bar links replaced as 27K, a few other “vehicle serviced” entries.
Wondering if anyone can give their thoughts on this car. Any issues with their AWD system? What kind of repairs can I expect at this age, besides the normal wear & tear of shocks, brakes, etc.
I’m planning on paying cash so I’m hoping someone can offer a suggestion if the price is reasonable. It’s not a certified car and being sold from a Chevy dealer.
Any suggestions would be great!

18,7k is a lot but with 30k and the car is perfect that is not bad .I would always check with the dealer and give them the Vin# most dealer will let you know when and if all maintenance was done. This is VERY important. Well not just Very its the most important thing when buying a used Volvo. If this all checks out and you can get the price down even a little you should be in good shape. But even at that price you still have a nice deal as i dont think you could find one with that low mileage ... Gl and sound like you have a nice car in front of you.... I have been looking at R for about a year and i have only found 1 an 07 with even close to that mileage and they want 20k with 65k most cost around 15k with 75k-90k on them.. GL One of the issue tha the R has is the sleeve from the transmission to the angel gear over time they tend to strip out but i believe that at 30k this should not be an issue unless the car was abused buy the previous owner. Other than that struts are expensive. But other than that its a euro car and there comes a cost with driving one when they need work. Built soild but no car runs with out proper maintenance .Also buy the warranty and i think you can even go threw Volvo for that. I would check even if you do not buy it from a Volvo dealer i believe that you can still get one threw them.. The car has no Big know issue but when something goes it cost $$ to fix..
