Low Beam Headlight, resistance problems.
(2002 S60 AWD)
Both front low beam bulbs have been blowing out every few months for quite awhile now. This last outage resulted in a melted plastic housing around the H7 Bulb. Bulb still looked good. Bought a new plastic housing from Volvo for $5 bucks. Cleaned off the melted plastic, slathered on the dialectic grease, and put the female ends back in place. Then checked the passenger bulb for the heck of it. Sure enough the bulb was burned on the back and the plastic connector housing is smelling nice and burn't. Put everything back together and both lights work. Bulbs were not burn't out this time. Using Sylvania Eco bulbs.
Anyone experienced this before? It's getting really hot behind both bulbs for some reason. You can smell the plastic cooking when the lights are on. I can't figure out why. Just running parking lights during the day for now.
Thanks!
