Hello everyone, I've had a nightmare fixing my 2001 s60 t5 Volvo with 188000km
I started having throttle issues and my rpm wouldn't pass 3500RPM
I took it to the dealership, they quoted me 3000$ for a vvt seals and gear replacement, and a ETM replacement, after finding that out I bought the ETM and replaced it, then took it to local special shop, they fixed the timing on the vvt and did a compression test and found everything to be fine, they reprogrammed the throttle and it still gave them issue, they then said it's either the wiring or the ECM, they replaced the ECM and now there saying that a valve bent and the catalytic converter was glowing red.... So I'm about 2500$ in repairs and now the shop says it might not be worth fixing.
For the little bit of driving I did do, I feel in love the my s60.
Right now the cars been in the shop for over 1 ½ months. I'm just about ready to give up on it, I trust the shop but I won't lie it has felt a bit scammy .Do you guys have a solution or an idea of what happened? Or maybe if it's worth reparing?
Sorry I don't have any codes or diagnosis codes right now.
