need help identify this tranny
hi guys
I need help identifying this 5 speed manual transmission in my son's 2001 S60 T5 as I don't believe that it is the original unit.
We "just" did the clutch and the correct clutch didn't fit. 300 miles later and new sticker tires, he come home with gear oil pouring out the bottom and metal pieces crunching inside the tranny, Dad I was driving normal with my friends and all of a sudden...kids!
anyways...
the molded in 7 digit on top of the transmission is numbered:
1023746
the paper tag on the front has the following numbers next to a bar code:
P9482077 M56LK
T100741 4.00
thank you in advance for your assistance
Larry

Thanks but the original trans was replaced with: M56LK which I'm told from Erie Vo-vo that it's a 2001 Non Turbo transmission.
These guys, eirevovo.com are great with supplying parts but a little trick I learned which could save you all money is DONT CALL their posted 800 number unless you want to pay retail.
Instead go on car-part.com and find the part there. Call the posted toll free number and buy the same part at wholesale.
What's the difference? 111K on a 5 speed tranny was $200 LESS wholesale - $400 vs. $600 delivered.
