Default New owner new member. Fuel issues looking for advice.

Hello all,
I just recently got a 2005 S60 and while i love the car i got it cheap for a reason.

It has issues with hard starting. I put my fuel pressure guage on it. And when running its right at 55psi.
At start up it only goes to 20psi and unless you crank it right away bleeds right back down to zero within seconds.
My best guess is the fuel pressure regulator is hosed. I see no issue with the vacuum lines.
I figured i would check with some experts before going out and dropping the 225 bucks the dealer wants for the FPR.
Thanks to all in advance for any advice. Hoping to stay a member here a long time.
THanks
Rich

I read a post a while back about this issue and they suggested installing a check valve before the fuel filter at the back to prevent the back flow of fuel to the tank. They say the check valve is embedded in the fuel pump and not replaceable by itself. You have to replace the whole FP. Repost back here on your progress will ya.
