Default New to the site & need some help/advice.Clanking clunking noise in R/F inner fender

Hey everyone I just recently signed up to the site hopeing that someone can help me out with my recent problem.

My girlfriend has a 2001 S60 with about 200,000 miles on it (a lot Huh) and it's making a horrible noise from what sounds to be the front passenger inner fender. The sound is somewhat similar to hitting a pot hole or speed bump constantly while driving, although the ride isn't compromised at all; unless considering that uneasy feeling you get in your stomach thinking the cars tire is going to fall off while doing 65 on the free way. Now the sound isn't constant, it comes and goes and usually when it happens it lasts for a while, but oddly enough at the sound dissipates when letting off the accelerater and then comes back when accelerating. I'd say this situation happens about 90 percent of the time I tried while driving home today.

I have a few ideas as to what may be the problem or problems for that matter, and after reading the different threads on this site any one of the problems could be associated to my issue, but hopefully someone can help me narrow it down or maybe has had the same problem they were able to rectify.

Thanks beforehand for your help..

Alright I finally got some time to look at the car and when I started bouncing the car on its shocks I noticed that the strut is bouncing way to much out of its housing within the engine compartment. The three bolts of which I believe are the mounting bolts are not loose at all, and the bolt on top of the strut is not loose either. There is a lot of rubber shavings and dust all around the top of the mount from when the strut moves upward tomuch out of ist housing. I took some photos and a video hoping that somwone on here can give me advice on how to attack the problem. I unfortunately can't get the tire off yet to further inspect it because the rims have a key lock lug nut on it and the car doesnt have the key in it.. Another issue to deal with, finding a key that will fit in order to get it off or finding a way to break it. The key is rounded so get a grip on it will be difficult in order to torque it off or break it off.. Any Suggestions on that would be greatly appreciated as well.

Hopefully the photos and video work, and if not you should be able to click the links or copy and paste them in.

The spring seat is bad. This is what you will need.

Yes, it is the absorber spring rubber seat, the top end of the spring which is attached to the absorber mounting
