Passenger side clunking + lack of suspension

Hi all
I've found a few subjects with the following two problems, but no issues that have both these problems...
I have a S60, from low speed upto 30/40mph (and at higher speeds of the road surface is uneven) the passenger side of the vehicle clunks lots! Sometimes when I pull off and sometimes not, but during driving there generally is a loud clunk from the passenger side front wheel area...
If I hit a pothole/road drain/sudden road surface change it also clunks and there is absolutely no suspension on that wheel so it makes a sound as id the wheel smacks the floor and bounces back to normal (all other wheels handles it smoothly in the event of a pothole etc), however the "clunking" side still drives very smooth when on an OK road surface...
Just wondered if anyone has experienced anything similar so I can get a little heads up of what to possibly expect when it goes into the garage!
Thanks everyone
Scott

Subframe O-ring (Addresses sub-frame knocking noise)
i had the same issue and these fixed it right up
(you will need 2 new sub frame bolts to do this repair)
Subframe Bushing Bolt
And perhaps your sruts are going out, depending on your mileage you might want to replace them aswell.
