Default planning on buying a 03 s60

I'm planning on buying a 03 s60 this week and I was wondering what are some things that I need to know(be warned) about this car.

It has 93k on it with a manual transmission. The timing belt has recently been replace on it.

Also i needs the cup holder lid replaced on it. Where can i get one? I've searched all over the web and can't find one anywhere.

Thanks in advance!

That's good. See oil traps a lot. Have it inspected under and all that before hand.

I like my 03 s60, nice car to drive long distances in, gets pretty good mileage and has a big tank so you can go a long ways without stopping for fuel. I had to replace the upper torque/motor mount and the turn signal switch is going to need to be replaced soon, it does not always make the directionals work when it is in the correct position unless I wiggle it or hold pressure on it. Love the stereo/sound system. Wish mine were a standard but I have no complaints with the auto. Does not have the greatest turning radius and it could use a little more ground clearance...good luck with it.

I have an 03 and the biggest issue is Break Boosters in these cars.$500 part listen at the break pedal and listen for a Hiss that goes away when break is pressed.Thats about the only thing i can say for sure that an issue in an 03.As far as what to look for make sure you check and smell the trany fluid sound stupid but this 2 sec thing many save you and thousands of dollars in headachs. When the timming belt was done make sure the pullys and water pump was done at the same time or you will be paying another $800+ at 110,000 miles when the punp goes bad.Other than that they are a great car and 03 is the year that most if not all the issues were resolved.

Get a carfax report too just to make sure the car has not been in an accident w/c could be a problem in the long run due to misalignment or vibration.
MYST6, what was your issue on the brake booster? Pls. elaborate cuz I think I have an issue too.

If the break booster is going you will get what sounds like a faint hiss like air leeking around the break pedal.slight pressure on the pedal stops it.But i promise it get worse and louder. Its not going to hurt the car or even breaking stange enough. But for myself i waited 3 months to replace untill that hiss didn't stop anymore with pedal pressure and the radio did not block out the crazy loud HISS noise any more. Its a pain in the A-- to replace but its not hard to do yourself. If this is happening to you post back and ill give you a link to direction on how to replace it .It will save you $400 or so to do in the drive way and nothing fancy is needed to do it.

vollbc, ask if the car has been checked by dealer for the past recalls - fuel pump and fuel pressure sensor failure. Do a search about recalls on these cars. If u smell gas inside the cabin, fuel pump is leaking/defective and needs to be replaced.
