? Proper Oil
I know Volvo now recommends 0w-20 (Volvo Spec oil). The last 3 oil changes I’ve used that, but previously used 5w-30. Oil is changed every 5,000 miles and I use only Amsoil in all my vehicles. My wife only drives the car 4 miles to work and 4 miles home 3 times a week. As I said approximately 5,000 miles a year. Should I revert to 0w-30 or 5w-30 in this vehicle? The car uses no oil with either 0w-20 or 5w-30 between changes. The car just turned 39,000 and is a 4 cylinder 2.0 liter 2016 S60. We live in Texarkana, AR. I use only Amsoil European 0w-20 in my 2021 XC40 T5 Polestar tuned vehicle as it is Volvo spec.
Just wondering as I have read quite a few articles that say that the thicker 5w-30 gives better protection to vehicles after 40,000 miles.
Thanks in advance for any input,
Jim
