Default Radiator issue.

Hi all. I need a new Rad for my S60 D5 04Plate.
Mine has a hose connector top right and bottom left but the only ones that come up when I type in my Reg number has 2 smaller connectors on the left hand side, one above the other. Don't know what these are for and i don't have any hoses to even connect there.
Any advice please?

Do you have a manual transmission?

If so - the extra connections might be where the automatic transmission cooler lines connect. If we had the year and model and someone could look it up in a parts catalog for you.

Yes it's manual transmission. It's 2004 on an 04 plate. I've searched a lot on line but the only rad I can find without the extra connectors is on E-bay but it's second hand.

Try posting the links to the rads you are finding with the extra fittings. As hoonk said they are likely for an auto trans car. Many replacement rads now only come only as auto rads.

The notation in the parts catalog "When installing on vehicles with "MAN.TRANS", leave leftover connections open."

I'd bet that means there's a transmission cooler that's not used - Don't buy the cheapest radiator you can find (or anything used) - you will regret it. I've had good luck with the Nissens brand (if the customer did not want the Volvo brand)

That's really helpful lads, thank you.
I had bought one from Europarts but when I took it out of the package it obviously looked wrong so took it back. I thought that the extra ports would somehow use the rad therefore leaving two holes. bit strange that it only uses a bit of the side casing of the rad and must somehow remain a separate, sealed entity.
Guess I'll be going back to Europarts to get it back then. How embarrassing lol.
Thanks again for your help.
Stay safe.

Yes the oil lines from an automatic transmission are connected to those fittings, there's a small oil to water oil cooler inside
