Raising my 03 S60
I have been wondering about getting more ground clearance in my car, it seems I am frequently bouncing the crossmember at the front of the car off of raised driveway entrances. I suppose just going to a higher profile tire than the 195/65 R15's on the car could give me some, does anyone know at what diameter I start having rubbing issues? Are there companies that make lift spring and or bushing kits for Volvos?

a proper tire/wheel combo wont change your height as the outside ratio will stay the same.
you MIGHT be able to use XC70 springs but it also might screw everything up.
My suggestion would be to approach at an angle and go slow. Also have all your suspension components checked out - you shouldnt be that low if you are stock.

It looks like if I could find a 195/80 15 I could gain 2" in outside tire diameter, which would give me an 1" greater under car clearance. Has anyone tried running oversize tires? I was wondering about clearance issues but I guess I would lose a little around town acceleration and my speedo would be off by 10%...are most of the rubbing issues people experince due to wider tires? I do not think the issue is do to my car being abnormally low I think it is just the road peripherals here in South Africa...

This is new trying to raise car.If you look under car look at skid plate and make sure it as put back on right.I had oil changed at local shop and they failed to put all bolts back on tight.I have a 03 S60 and unless the curb that you hit is not level on the back side i canot see how it would rub under the car. This may be a suspension issue not so much a height problem. But you may be right with the roads being the problem.
