Default Replacement column lock?

It looks like I need to replace my column lock. The key is starting to stick and takes some force to turn after the halfway point.

I had looked into this a while back and thought that I had seen column locks that only came with a non-transponder key that turned the lock and that was it. Looking now, I find this Part 30753443https://www.eeuroparts.com/Parts/611...-Key-30753443/ It looks like it comes with three keys. I don't need three extra keys.

I called the parts guy at my local dealership and he was less than helpful.

Does anyone know if there is an option for column locks without keys or just that simple non-transponder key?

Thanks.

The one from the dealer comes coded to your existing keys and will have a dummy non-transponder key in it.

Many times I have had that problem of keys not turning the lock and it is normally the back end of the unit , the electronics, that is the problem rather than the lock. Once the tumblers in the barrel have aligned and the barrel can turn there is nothing to jam as it is a smooth interior on the lock so jamming has to happen further down the unit past where the lock barrel joins the mechanisms that lock the steering, turn the electronics drum etc. A short spray of silicone into the tumblers will smooth things out usually but will nut cure a worn mech'.
