which S60?
The wife is INSISTING on an S60 (she has an S40 now)... I can only afford pre-owned. I find that I can afford 2012-2014 (roughly $20K). Now I see that there are different engine types (2.5, 3.0), and various designations (Premium, etc.). I started my reading, but it gets complicated!!! In short, what is the best 'bang for the buck'? Which engine gets the better MPG, reliability ? Any info that you could pass on so that I can eliminate all the pre-purchase questions would be helpful. What would you buy?
The smaller turbo charged engines are better for a daily drive, because they only guzzle when turbo is engaged, so driving style can regulate bang and buck. They're also zippier than the larger engines, which are geared to suit a more ponderous process. In my family we have a 2.0T, a 2.4T, and a T5. They get more powerful, less economical, and less responsive as you go up. Unless she's towing get the smallest turbo you can find with the features you're after.
