Default S60 battery replacement question

I am going to replace OEM battery for the first time in 10 years on my 02 s60. Question do I Just turn off the engine for 5 mins and take negative off first, then positive and in reverse order when connecting, as the manual states? Or do I have to do position2 procedure with the key, wait and then turn on the car. Didn't think changing the battery would be so risky, but I have read about a lot of issues.

Thanks

BUMP!

Looking to replace my battery today (looks like the original Volvo battery). Is it just as simple as following the owners manual.

Yep, just shut it off, remove ground then power. Swap battery and connect power and then ground.
