Hi, I have a 2007 S60 2.5T exhibiting a problem where the brakes sometimes get stuck fast after driving a few miles. It's as if the brake is being applied with no pressure on the brake pedal. This has happened twice now. The fist time I checked the temp of the cailpers and found the RF and LR were much hotter. But after and hour or so they were no longer stuck. Thinking it might be a stuck caliper I check them all and none were stuck - they all moved easily. I cleaned and re-greased everything (pads, carriers, etc.), and the problem did not occur for 5-6 weeks with many trips around town. But today I made a short trip (2 miles) and returned home.l After a few minutes I restarted the car to move it out of the sun and the brakes were stuck fast. I immediately jack up the rear and found the LR wheel stuck fast whereas the RR wheel turned freely. I jacked up the front and found the RF stuck fast whereas the LF turned freely. I loosened the bolts on the MC and after which he stuck wheels moved freely, however this is inconclusive as it could have had time to release on it's own as before. So any ideas? Could it be the booster or the master cylinder? Strange way for a part to fail... Thanks in advance for any ideas on how to address this.

hi there. I have the same problem! Only my brakes sick on every time i press the foot brake. In other words the brakes are on permanently. Did you ever get to the botton of it?
@MAXRED, I believe I finally fixed this by replacing the ABS valve body with a used unit I ordered from a parts yard in DFW area I found online. That was in May 2020 and the problem has not returned (fingers crossed).
Not a terrible job replacing that unit and I only had to bleed the hard lines at the ABS valve body when done. I kept my original motor that mounts to it.
The first time this problem occurred (at Sam's drive-through - stuck for about an hour) I cleaned calipers/pistons, inspected soft lines and replaced fluid but it happened again shortly.
Second time it happened (in driveway) I replaced booster and master cylinder. Replacing the booster was a tough job and it didn't happen again for a few months so I thought it was fixed.
Third time it happened (a couple of blocks from home) I replaced the ABS valve body.
No-one should have to endure this problem. Dangerous for brakes to lock anywhere - imagine if one were at a stoplight when it happened.
Let me know if I can help further.
to note, on my Volvos (850 and S40 Gen 1), the ABS pump, valve body and controller can all be serviced independently. I too had a RR lock up where no fluid was getting to the FL wheel (pushing too much to the RR). Replaced the valve body did the trick - and I kept the existing pump and controller. I think I paid $65 for a used part at a local yard.
I had this happen with my 2002 S60, the RF brake would grab hard enough to keep the car from moving and then release minutes later. My mechanic dove into the problem and wound up replacing nearly the entire brake system chasing a different problem. So I'm not sure what the problem was.
The initial thought was that the flexible line to the RF caliper had a defect that wouldn't allow pressure to release. However, in an attempt to flush the brakes, he found that the ABS unit wouldn't flush so he replaced that as well.
