s60 front suspension issues?
I brought my 2002 Volvo S60 (87k miles)into a non-volvo used car dealer (where I bought the car, required to go there with my warranty unless car breaks down 40 miles or more away) to have a slight squeaky/hingey noise that I was hearing in the front wheel well areas looked into. To make a long story short, the car came back with much worse noises and the original noises are still there as well. They looked at it multiple times and replaced the inner tied rods on both sides, the front left and ride control arms and I was also told that "a heating shield was bent" and was causing the noise. None if these approahces fixed the problem and the car continues to make the nosies every day.
I wrote a very detailed copmplaint letter to theowners and they arelooking into my service/experience and I am waiting to hear back today on what they can do for me at this point. I am thinking that I should ask to be reimbursed for my deductibles that were paid and also to have my warranty honored at a Volvo dealer.
I remember seeing somewhere on this forum that some Volvos have suspension issues, any details or suggestionswould be greatly approceiated.
Thanks!

RE: s60 front suspension issues?
I believe I've read where the bushings on the lower control arm can be a problem especially if damaged or excessively worn, but I'm not sure there areany real commonproblems or failureswith the front suspension. I suppose a heat shield could be bent and rattle, but it doesn't sound like it's the source of your problems. I think thetop strut bearingsandmake noises if wornalso.
