I think you'll like the car. I have one. Watch out for speeding tickets as it is a smooth, deceptively fastride.
Problems I've noted in the year of ownership are pretty minimal. Poor turning circle, front tires rub a lot when turning and the antenna for my remote starter fell off the windshield. The back seat is tight for adult passengers. Also, a low battery made the alarm systems (the remote starter has an additional alarm) screw up. The variable-speed steering has a slightly twitchy feel to it, but it works well. Killer sound system and the engine torque requires care when starting out in traffic as you can catch the guy in front quickly. You'll fall in love with the seats!
Other than that, you'll probably end up with sore cheeks from listening to the engine pass 4K rpm. I'm happy with the car and it gets better mileage than my S60 AWD with the low pressure turbo. I'm not easy on the cars, either.
I do have one major complaint, but it really has nothing to do with the car. The tires (Hankook Ventus HRll) don't grip nearly as well as any other tires I've driven on. These tires could be responsible for the above mentioned twitchiness, too. I should really look at getting back to some Michelins or Toyos.

Volvo's recommendation is 7.5k mile oil changes with conventional oil. If buying a used turbo Volvo, I would look for one with maintenance records where the owner exceeded these recommendations orused a synthetic oil.
