S60 Won't Lock / Battery, Alarm Issues
Hello everyone,
I'm having some odd issues with my 2013 S60 and hoping someone here may have some suggestions as to what is going on.
Last week I my check engine light went on and when tested at my local AutoZone, results suggested that the leak detection pump needed to be replaced. As I was going out of town for the weekend, I decided to schedule an appointment with a mechanic this morning. At this time there was no problems with how the car ran.
Upon trying to enter my car this morning using keyless entry, as soon as I gripped the door handle to open my car the alarm started going off, and it would not start! I could not start my car, even when placing the remote key in the ignition slot and pressing the start button. I also could not use the lock or unlock buttons in my remote key. My dashboard also showed a digital message of low battery. This alarm kept going, would stop a few seconds then begin again.
Does anyone think this is limited to just a battery issue, or could I also have some sort of wiring issue? I have also tried using my spare key remote this evening and the car will not lock, and the screen still reads "low battery" with the engine off.
Any suggestions/ideas would be so appreciated! Thinking I will need to tow the car to a mechanic tomorrow morning.

I'd say your battery needs replacing. It's low and not providing enough power to the computer, which in turn is throwing error message, and causing the other issues you're having.
I had the low battery message, along with a few other error messages. Dealer tested the battery, found it to be low and replace it under warranty. All the error messages/issues went away.
