S60R Front End Center Whirring Noise - HELP!!!
Having some issues with a whirring noise within the front end of my vehicle which only occurs when accelerating and when the AWD Control Module is enabled. Thinking something with the driveshaft of some sort does anyone have any idea?
Alright so here's the characteristics of this issue.
If this helps I now have two mechanics completely stumped!
Video of the sound Here!
Alright so here's the characteristics of this issue.
- Best described as a 'Whirring' Noise <--By the Mechanic
- Only occurs when accelerating
- Direction does not influence the sound 'Turning the wheel left and right'
- Noise sounds as if it's coming from the front center -> front right
- Noise is nonexistent upon deactivation of the AWD (Haldex) Control Module
- ***Performance is not effected by the noise***
If this helps I now have two mechanics completely stumped!

I know whether the AWD is deactivated because that's what happens when you pull the AWD Control Module Fuse When the car is in FWD Mode...the noise is no longer present. It's not the tone ring as I'm not experiencing any codes regarding ABS and/or clunking of anysort.
