Hello fellow Volvo owners and mechanics! I'm new to posting but have been coming here often for advise.

Here is my dilemma, I have a 2006 Volvo S60 2.5T (actually have 2 of them). The water pumped seized and it kicked off the timing belt. I've read that most likely there is valve damage, according to my research there really is no escaping any valve damage, I suppose.

What I would like to do is install a new water pump and since everything else (timing belt, pulling etc.) is in good shape use the stuff that's there just to see what happens when we start the car, maybe we got lucky? Has any one tried this before?

Of course, If we did get lucky we would change the timing belt and pulleys, etc. when we find out what we are up against.

Any help you can give me would be great. Thanks.
