Sitting in traffic and engine died
2002 S60 Base.
Recently had steering rack replaced. Flex pipe has a hole in it. Don't know if either have anything to do with this.
Today, sitting at a light I heard a high pitched whistle but I didn't think that it was coming from my car. Then, the engine cuts out. Restarted it without a problem but now the whistle is gone. Drove to where I was going and back again without a problem.
No warning lights on the dash.
Any thoughts.

Would that cause the engine to quit? I could see it making noise.
The flex pipe was replaced this morning so we'll see if it dies again.

more commonly whistling is a symptom of a PCV system issue. If it happens again, try pulling out the dipstick to see if it stops. You can also try a "rubber glove" test to see if you have positive crank case pressure.
