Default Small Oil Leak Inside the Timing Belt Cover

I have a small but disturbing oil leak inside from inside the timing belt cover. I haven't looked too closely at where it originates but it seems to be low like around the crankshaft. The car only has 72,000 miles so it seems unusual that seal would be bad. Before I go digging I just want to see if anyone has any ideas if there is some common problem area that might be causing the leak.

Most common problem is cam seals leaking. But it is usually due to clogged vent system.

It sounds like that is worth checking before doing anything else. But I'm really not sure how to do that. Can you point me in the right direction to check for a clogged vent system? Thanks for the response.

It's a 2002 S60 non-turbo. I see where the crankcase ventilation system is but I don't know of a good way of checking to see if it's clogged. It looks like I have to take the inlet manifold off to get to it. Thanks.

Under the manifold on the passenger side is a Bango fitting that screws to the intake. There is a small hose going to it. Check the fitting where the small hose attaches.
