new to forums and just bought an 04 s60 2.4 n/a with 71000 on it.
my question is every time i fill the gas right after the pump auto clicks off when full a small amount of gas spills out of the fill neck.
not alot maybe 1/2 cup or so.
what would cause this \, clogged tank vent maybe?

Maybe one of the vent hoses are clogged.
Or maybe the flap in the tank isn't working correctly.

can this be checked out by blowing air through the small vent hose that runs to the filler neck-opening?

I believe you are still protected under the lemon law and should have them look into it.

I don't think it is a lemon, but probably needs to be looked at by a qualified tech.

And of course this happens at different gas stations?

I have seen 2 things cause this. 1. Some one replaced the pump and the wires are blocking the flap from opening all the way. 2. The flap itself messes up and doesn't open all the way causing the problem.

The lemon laws depend on your State (if you are in the US, of course).

They protect you against vehicles, used or new, bought from a professional dealer. You need to go look and read about it.

There is an access under the seats to get to the fuel pump and other sending unit.
