Default Starter Problem

2002 Volvo S60 T5. For the past 3-4 years there has been an intermittent starter problem where the car won't start. Doesn't grind and try to start, it just doesn't start. Electrical will come on. After a minute or two or sometimes more, if I keep trying, it will ultimately start. Today it started without the clutch depressed. No consistency. We've checked starter. sparks. distributor. No luck.

Has anyone had a similar problem?

I have had the same issue, it is more frequent now than it was before it actually is the solenoid and not the starter....I carry a screw drive and a hammer to gently tap it and my car will start, I am in the process of replacing the entire starter assembly....they have them on ebay with a life time warranty and no core for around $79 with free shipping, in additon you can get just the solenoid off of ebay if you want but it was half the price of the start so I am going to just replace the whole unit!!! I hope this helps
