terrible noise coming from my steering rack which sounds like dry bearings
struggling to find appropriate part numbers to get a replacement, all help gratefully received

2013 v60 I'm assuming electric as no resivior for fluids

You have an electric pump powering a traditional hydraulic power steering rack/system. There is fluid and a reservoir. Check your owners manual for the proper fluid type. Here's a parts page for a 5 cyl diesel - the other engine choices are similar. You obviously have a leak - if it's low

had wheels off and root around .
there's a motor assembly on lhs.
has a wee sticker on it. ill try and post it

 

Do you not have one of these under the hood (bonnet)? (from your owners manual)
