Tips for inspecting a used s60?
hi gang,
I知 headed over to take a look at a used 2004 s60 2.5t with 260,000km on it this morning. He is selling for $900CAD which might be a good deal as I知 willing to put some work in myself if need be. He has highlighted a leaking power steering system as well as a faulty throttle body as known issues.
Just wondering what other items I should take a close look at beyond the obvious based on the collective smarts of this forum. Hat are the common failure points on this beauty?

-Timing belt service records?
-PCV system health?
Be prepared to replace all of the various fluids, hoses, belts, engine mounts, and all of the steering/suspension bushings.
If the oil has been changed regularly and the transmission shifts smoothly, you have yourself a cheap project car. I must say... I have a great time bringing my aging S60 back to life as a project. Eventually, you'll go from needed maintenance items to upgrades!
I have learned a lot through this process and at this point my 15 year old car performs better than it did when it was new!

Thank you. I ended up picking it up for $450CAD. Car appears to be in decent shape so I think I got myself a bargain. It has a throttle body issue that I need to eork through though. Just trying to figure out if I should attempt a cleaning or whether I should just bite the bullet and replace. It痴 the Bosch throttle body and not the older version so I知 hoping a simple cleaning will do the trick. Running in limp mode as a result so quite anxious to deal with this first.
