Transmission Problems
Hi Tech
Got my transmission valve body replaced. Went smoothly for a a couple of days but last night, it started slipped again for a while. I depressed the accelarator and it didn't kick down like normal. I floored the acelerator and it kicked down quite aqbruptly with some clanking noices and it went normal again. What do you think could be the issue? Could it be the transmission control adaption?

Do you know if they test drove it and reset the adaption? It could be the adaption. There is usually a process that has to be done after replacing the valve body.It usually takes about 5-10 miles of the tech driving after putting into adaption mode.
Yes they did. But I think the probelm I have may be something else. I suddenly experienced a loss in power and although the gear changes were normal, the engine seemed to rev more while the car was sluggish and there's sort of a whirring noise if i rev past say 4000-5000 rpm. Also I noticed some white smoke coming out from exhaust. Do you know what this can be?
Sounds like the transmission is slipping. There isn't much more I can say thats what it sounds like to me.If you keep into the gas when it does that does it slam into gear?Or does it kind of slide into gear and than go?
It doesn't kick into gear. It sort of is sluggish right from stationary and the engine feels like it's lost its power. Then it moves on to the next gear when it gathers enough speed but then if you try to depress the accelerator, it just doesn't have the pulling power it did, but the engine is howling.
