This is prob the best you can do...
http://www.bsruk.co.uk/tuning_ppc.htm

There are other companies that offer this also. Just plugs into the OBD II and in a few minutes it's programmed.

Do not remove the screen on the MAF. You heard wrong. It will not increase your power. What it will increase is the chance to truly damage your engine.

So do not do it.

1. What is your budget?

2. What is your Hp goal?

3. Are you N/A or turboed?

Lets start with the basics first. Then move on.

Your best bet is the PPC ECU upgrade.

Witha turbo engine,a bigger downpipe should give you more than the cat-back. I would get both to be honest, but if you have to choose one, I would go with the downpipe.

I guess it depends how mechanically inclined you are. A friend of mine is a mechanic, and one of the bolts from the dp to the turbo housing broke off requireing it to be drilled out. Luckilly he had the tools to do it (which I don't) and it was still a PITA, so anything is possible.
