Turn Signals acting strange

Turn Signals acting strange
Hi Everyone,
My turn signals act very strange. During cold starts and first few miles in, they work without any issues, but when the car gets fully warmed up and anywhere from 5-10 miles after starting, I get a message: Left [or right]Turn Signal Bulb Malfuction.
Here is the only problem, all bulbs work. They do however at that time blink at a much faster pace.
Left and right side seem to be independent of one another as they never start acting up at the same time, but they both do eventually. It's more annoying than anything else, but would like to get it fixed, if someone here could give me an idea where to look for the source of the problem.
I already checked the fuse, to see if maybe it's faulty or of wrong ampareage, but all is well there.
I read a thread where a member has a 'similar' problem and you guys suggest to do the software update. If that is the case with mine, do i have to go to the stealership or can i purchase an after market kit somewhere?
Perhaps, there is a quick fix, like a connecting a resistor? I'm not much of an electrician, so I a bit clueless here.
Any help is appriciated and anticipated.
Many thanks,
Adrian

RE: Turn Signals acting strange
There was a problem with the front turn signal bulb sockets. They have a poor design that causes problems.
There is an updated socket that will cure it.
However, I would need to see the socket to know if it applies to your car. I think the bad ones are black and the updated ones are brown.

Thanks for your quick reply.
By a bulb socket, I think you mean the piece of hardware that is directly connected to the bulb, correct?
If that is correct, I will take a look at it and let you know if mine are black or brown.
If I need to update mine, can I purchase it anywhere or at the dealership only?
Thanks,
Adrian

It wasn't fun, hehe. It sure was a tight fit. I removed the air filter housing, but was thinking for a while on how to work those funky anchors
In case this might be useful to anyone, I did it by pressing down [on the anchor] with a 3/8 socket on an extension and raising the housing with the other hand.
Anyways, to my suprise, the socket appears to be grayin color, neither black or brown. The only thing that's black on it a rubber seal.
This is what it says on it:
STOCKS-VALEO
PA66-GF30 <--on one end
>PA6-GB30< <--on the other end
Do you think those are OEM? I can send a pic if you would need to see it.
Thanks for your help.

RE: Turn Signals acting strange
This close up is as good as it gets with my camera. btw, the bulb appears to be in poor shape, so i'll replace it tomorrow. The electrode in the bulp is ok, but palce where the glass meets the metal housing is in bad shape, wonder if this has something to do with it.
Thanks,
A.

If you look athe the 2 prongs that touch the bulb, follow them down and you will see the problem. They just sit on top of the prongs for the terminals. It's not a good connection. They get hot, corroded, and stop conducting electricity. I would get 2 new sockets at the dealer, they will come with new bulbs.
