Question V60 Cross Country

Hello everyone,

i am new here. Have a V60 Cross Country 2016 year whit D4 engine, 190 hp. Last day I made myself brake service and found out that my front brake disks are for change. Then I measured them with a tape measure - its around 320 mm. So I open the Autodoc web site and search for front brake disks there and found three options - 300, 316 and 336 mm . Then I look for brake pads and I found that they are exactly the same size as all disc sizes! In this situation, even with the largest disk, we do not have improved braking because of its size and width of the disk and if the pad is the same size ?! What is the advantage of a larger disk then? Better cooling only? Friction of the pad will be only in a small area.

And as last what exactly is the length of my front brake disks - 300, 316 mm? I think it is 316 because when I measure it it's more close to 320 mm.

Thanks to all answers.
