Default V60 Electronic Parking Brake

2015.5 V60 T5 Premier, 32,500mi

So a week ago the weather got real nasty here in Denver. During the evening, I was driving for about 120 miles on the highway in sloppy wet slush and it was getting quite cold. At 4am the next morning, I had the car loaded up to go to the airport and the EPB gave me a warning "Parking Brake Not Fully Disengaged". I tried cycling it several times, and then eventually it went into a "Service Parking Brake" mode. There was no apparent resistance when I tried driving it a very short distance. Needless to say, I had to rush to find alternative means to the airport.

When I came back a week later, I started the car. The parking brake light flashed a few times, then stayed solid, and the EPB fully disengaged and there is now no apparent issue. Is this a known issue with adverse winter weather conditions causing a sensor fault or perhaps problems with some sort of actuator?

***Update to add*** Clearly this has something to do with the cold weather... I gave my V60 a quick wash last night and later it dipped below freezing. Came out to a lightly frosted car and again, the EPB issue. After a few hours in the sun, no problem.
