Hello,
I'm new to the forums here but recently purchaseda used 2006 Volvo S60R.

I love the car and hope its going to be as good as my last S70.

Here in Canada we do see our share of the snow and I've recentlynoticed an issue that I'm hoping someone can help me out with or point me in the right direction. It seems that on snowy and slushy days once i drive through the slush the car begins to make a lould squeeking or screetching noise that appears to be coming from the rear of the drivetrain. I had one tech test drive the car and he thought it may be a rear disc brake shield that is scraping onthe rotor. I check and it seems that both rear break rotor guards are attached properly and don't have any play in them.

I was wondering if anyone else has run into this issue or maybe heard of anything like this.

No problem. Scared the hell out of me the first time it happened and I had no idea what it was.

 

I have never heard it but sounds like it would scare you.

 

You guys down south aren't privileged to the wonderful slush/freezing rain we get up here

My dealer knew right away before I even finished explaining what happened.

 

I bet I really don't miss that weather at all.

 

I drove my s60 R for the first time in heavy rain. I had the same sound and it lasted 20 seconds or so.

Oh by the way, had I not known about it, it would have freaked me out also. Just shrugged it off.
