Default Wheel Replacement

Hello S60ers,

This is my first post as a new member, so please be gentle.

I need to replace all 4 wheels on my 05 S60 T5.

I currently have the Alloy Wheel, 17 x 7.5, 7 Spoke "Thor" model.

The dealership quoted me $350 per wheel to replace.

I would greatly appreciate your input regarding after-market distributors/manufactures that I can research. If you've had negative experience with after-market distributors/manufactures, I would appreciate such information also.

Has anyone had positive or negative experience with Wheels and Caps?

If I buy after-market, non-Volvo wheelswill the lug wells line up correctly?

Any other issues I need to consider?

Thank you for your time.

I have used Discount Tire Direct for rims and tires. I like them.

TireRack is another good place to buy rims and tires from as well.

Wheels and Caps what is that?

You must buy rims that are 5x108mm bolt pattern. Hubcentric rings will be needed too and most rims comes with them. Mine did at least.

Default RE: Wheel Replacement

I just replaced my 16" S60 wheels with 17". They were a Volvo rim off of a 2002 C70. (See my post in sights & sounds to see the wheels)I didn't have to worry about fit. The 16" S60 is a 5/108/43 pattern 5 (bolt) 108mm (spacing on bolt pattern) 43mm (offset, which is the distance from the back of the inside of the wheel where it is up against the hub to the back edge of the wheel itself. Make sure that any wheel you buy is very close to the OEM offset number.

The only aftermarket wheel I ever bought was some American Racing wheels for my daughters Camry. I had to go through six wheels to get four that could be balanced. I don't know whether that is true with all aftermarket wheels but be careful.

Thanks for the advice.

Based upon your suggestion, I went to the Discount Tire web page. I even got to "try on" the TSW Kyalami Hyper-Silver 17x7 with the 5x108 bolt pattern. The Kyalamis are being shipped from CA and will be here Thursday.

THANK YOU
